The maximum temperature may cross the 41 degrees Celsius mark today, the weatherman has said.
The minimum temperature this morning was at 31 degrees, three notches above normal, and the MeT office predicted partly cloudy skies with the likelihood of thunderstorm in some areas in the course of the day. No rainfall was recorded till 8.30 A.M.
"Partly cloudy sky and thundery development may occur in some areas of the national capital," said a MeT official.
The humidity in air in the city during the day yesterday was recorded between 40 and 79 per cent while the maximum had settled at 41.3 degrees, three notches above normal.
