Sagar emerged victorious in a neck-to-neck contest that lasted 13 minutes, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association President, Shiv Kumar Sharma informed.
Sagar bagged the best wrestler award in the event, organised by Swami Nitya Nand Dangal Committee under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The winner of the first Malli bout, Sagar was given a cash prize of Rs 8,000 in additional to traditional 'silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta', while Ranjeet got Rs 7,000.
The competition saw as many as 56 bouts taking place.
Another important bout was between Jodha of Amritsar and Sat Paul of Sonipat, where the former won in 12 minutes.
Jodha was awarded Rs 6,000, while Paul pocketed Rs 5,000.
In the third bout of the day, Parveen of Sonipat beat Murad Ali of Jammu in 27 minutes to win Rs 5,000.
The runners-up received for Rs 3,000.
