The initiative like 'International Yoga Day' has brought enhanced focus on yoga at a global level, the industry chamber said, adding that due to stress, more and more people are practicing yoga which requires trained teachers.
It promises to become a multi-billion dollar market in the form of health clinics, ayurveda resorts, holiday camps and corporate training, it said.
"There is about a 30-40 per cent annual increase in demand for yoga learning in India with a growing publicity and health awareness, this demand will accelerate... Demand for trainers are set to grow by 30-35 per cent in a couple of years," the report said.
Corporates and business firms are facing the problem of stress among their staff members and yoga is not only the greatest stress buster, but is also an effective therapy option, the report said.
A mega event has been organised by the government on June 21 at Rajpath to mark the 'International Yoga Day'.
