More than 2,000 DMK workers today staged a demonstration in the city protesting alleged 'rampant corruption' in the City municipal corporation and 'neglect' of development works.
Former minister and senior leader, Pongalur N Palaisamy blamed the Corporation administration, including the Mayor and Commissioner, for the poor condition of roads.
If DMK came to power, it will order a detailed inquiry against the officials and guilty will be taken to task, he said.
Senior party leaders M Kannappan and M Ramanathan and district functionaries were among those who participated in the demonstration.
