Dempo will be aiming to keep their winning momentum going as they look forward to move up the ladder against Churchill Brothers in the 22nd round of the I-League, at Nehru Stadium Fatorda here tomorrow.
Dempo's unbeaten run in the second phase was halted by Salgaocar but they bounced back to beat Mohammedan Sporting in their last match to take their tally to 28 points from 20 matches. Aiming to finish among the top five, a win tomorrow will take them to third place.
With Amiri and Tolgay joining the team, Dempo has raised their performance winning five out of six last matches and coach Arthur Papas will be once again banking on them for victory. The defense and the midfield has coordinated well among themselves while Clifford and Roberto Silva have done well to keep the attack moving.
On the other hand, Churchill Brothers too are looking to carry forward the good run of the AFC Cup in the I-League.
Churchill missed their playmaker Abdel Shabana due to one-match suspension but went on to win against Pune FC in their last match to place themselves above Mohammedan Sporting with 18 points from as many matches.
Coach Mariano Dias is hoping that his team win their remaining matches and avoid relegation.
With Costa Rica striker Cristhian Lagos not in the side and Binesh Balan and Satish Kumar suspended, Churchill Brothers has an uphill task to counter Dempo who are at their best.
But with Shabana back in the side along with Australian defender Daniel Zelleny, coach Dias is confident that his team will play to their potential and win tomorrow to stay above the relegation zone.
