Dense fog affects normal life in Rajasthan

Dense fog affected rail and road services in the state as Mercury dipped by one to five degrees Celsius at most places due to an upper air cyclonic disturbance passing through the state in the last two days.
Churu on plains and Mount Abu on hills shivered at 4 degrees Celsius, a MeT report said today.
Dense fog disrupted rail and road services as North-Western Railways partially cancelled two trains, rescheduled 3 trains, and thirty-three trains were running late by twenty minutes to 8 hours, an official spokesman said.
Amritsar-Sadulpur and Sadulpur-Ludhiana train were partially cancelled due to fog and running behind schedule, the spokesman said, adding, Jodhpur-Varanasi, Sriganganagar-Rishikesh, and Ganganagar-Delhi trains were rescheduled.
Kolkata-Bikaner train was running eight hours late followed by Jammu Tawi-Ahmedabad by 5:35 hrs, Santrgachi-Ajmer 5:30 hrs and Sealdah-Ajmer 4:20 hrs, the spokesman said.
Sikar recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degrees followed by Pilani 5.4, Sriganganagar 7, Udaipur 8, and Ajmer 9.2 degrees Celsius.
Jaipur was engulfed in thick fog till 10 am, and the city recorded the minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, about 5 degrees less than previous night.
Elsewhere the minimum temperature varied between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius.
With clear sky and northerly cold wind pattern the Mercury will further fall in next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
