A dentist was today arrested from southern part of the citys Ranikuthi area for allegedly beating up a six-year-old girl whom he was attending to for her tooth problems.
According to a complaint lodged by the childs mother, the dentist started beating up her daughter when she was unwilling to open her mouth when the doctor was trying to pluck one of her problematic tooth, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
The girl started crying and the doctor allegedly became violent and hit her with the equipment meant to pluck teeth, he said quoting the complaint.
