Dental clinics in the country will remain shut for three hours tomorrow as a mark of protest against attack on a fellow dentist from Pune after a toddler died following a dental treatment there earlier this month.
"To condemn this attack, dentists across the country will keep their clinics shut for three hours between 10 am and 1 pm," leading dentist and founder of Indian Dentistry United, Dr Vivekanand Rege, told reporters here today.
On June 29, a three-year-old girl was declared dead after taking root canal treatment from a paediatric dentist at Kothrud in Pune. Police had booked the dentist under section 304(A) (causing death due to negligence) of the IPC. The doctor was later attacked in this connection.
The dentist was attacked after a television channel showed his face during a news show, he claimed.
