Taking serious note of telephonic complaints received regarding inter-state liquor smuggling, Additional CEO Supreet Singh Gulati said DEOs have been asked to rope in paramilitary forces for effective checking of all types of vehicles.
Punjab has been sanctioned 182 companies of paramilitary forces and 35 have already reported and remaining 137 were expected to reach the state by April 26, he said.
Gulati said the CEO has also ordered transfer of 19 officers/officials of different departments including SDM Patti and SDM Khamano after it was found that they were allegedly violating model code of conduct.

All the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will go to polls on April 30.
