The officials at Cyclone Warning Centre said here tonight that the system would intensify into a deep depression and move slowly northwestwards during next 48 hours and subsequently towards west-southwestwards to south Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu coasts leading to rainfall at several places with isolated heavy rainfall likely in Andaman and Nicobar islands during the next 48 hours.
No adverse weather is likely along and off east coast of the country during the next 48 hours, but fishermen along north Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
The Local Cautionary Signal Number One was hoisted at all the ports in coastal Andhra Pradesh, the weather office said.
