Parton, 68, is currently preparing to tour the UK this summer, including her first appearance at Glastonbury, reported Daily Express.
"Depression runs in my family on both sides and I have to be wary. It is usually brought on by something that is going on in the family and if there are problems sometimes it is a lot for one little person to carry," Parton said.
The singer also said that she has a lot of insecurities despite being a larger-than-life country singer with huge hits such as 'Jolene' and '9 To 5'.
"There are times when you just don't want to get up," Parton said.
