Tension gripped Behra Sadat village of the district after graves of the Sunni Muslims were found desecrated, the police said today.

The incident was reported yesterday when the Sunnis reached the graveyard to pray for the departed when they noticed the damaged graves, SHO Akhilesh said.

They then confronted the Shia Muslims of the locality who share the graveyard with the Sunnis, he said.

The police reached the spot and brought the situation under control, the officer added.
