"The people who are responsible for the desecration... must be handed over death penalty," BJP MLC Charanjeet Singh Khalsa told reporters here today.
Condemning the police action in which two Sikh protesters were killed and several others were injured in Faridkot, Khalsa demanded action against the policemen who were responsible for firing on the "peaceful protesters".
He said the recent incidents of desecration of scripture was a ploy to disturb the "hard earned" peace in the state.
Khalsa said Punjab Government should identify the culprits and make sure that they are punished so that no such incident is repeated in future.
