Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today urged that courts should be "a little more reluctant" in giving stay orders on recruitment or development process which affect delivery of services to the people.
"It has become almost impossible for us today to complete a process of recruitment or a development project without somebody or the other being able to stay almost the entire process on extremely flimsy grounds," Omar said at the inaugural function of the State Judicial Academy Complex here.
The Chief Minister said, stays cost the government "precious time" and expressed hope that judiciary will come to its rescue.
"While it is definitely the responsibility of my learned Advocate General and his team of lawyers to ensure that they argue our cases as strongly and forcibly in courts, I would also hope that the courts are little more reluctant and not grind the entire process to a halt, which (otherwise) costs us very precious time," he said.
The complex was inaugurated by Chief Justice of India, Justice Altamas Kabir.
