'Dhol-tasha' competition in Thane district

A state-level 'dhol-tasha' competition will be held in Kalwa in Thane district between January 25 and 27.
The competition has been organised by 'Sangarsha', a social organisation.
"Dhol and tasha are traditional instruments of Maharashtra and we will make efforts to get international repute for them," NCP MLA and founder president of 'Sangharsha', Jitendra Awhad told reporters here today.
The winner will get the prize money of Rs one lakh, followed by Rs 75,000 for the first runner-up and Rs 50,000 for the second runner up, he said.
Each participating team will get an award of Rs 5,000 and a memento, Awhad said adding that the participating teams are mostly from Pune district.
