The Haryana government will soon set up a centralised state emergency response centre - DIAL 100 - in Panchkula, near here, to swiftly deal with all type of emergency complaints.
"Calls to emergency number 100 would be routed to this centre, from where the information would be transmitted to the nearest police control room (PCR) vehicle," Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) Ram Niwas told reporters here today.
He said that the PCRs would be equipped with GPS and reach the spot in a timely manner.
The time of reception of call and time taken by the PCR to reach the spot would be noted and tracking of the van would be done to ensure accountability, he said.
Provision has also been made to monitor functioning of police personnel in the PCR through videography, he added.
The official said that 'Mitra Centres' were being established in about 300 police stations, at a cost of Rs 15 lakh each, to provide about 50 services such as verification of passport and issuance of arms license, so that applicants may not have to visit police stations.
All services would be made available online and special training of employees would be carried out for this purpose, he added.
