"The Central government is showing dictatorial tendencies. They are trying to bulldoze every democratic institutions of the country. They are even trying to force their will in Parliament. They suspended 25 MPs as they are not willing to accept any opposition. In democracy you can't stifle the voice of opposition parties," Salim said while addressing a programme commemorating the 127th birth anniversary of Muzzafar Ahmed.
Salim lashed out at the BJP and the RSS for fuelling communal passions in the country and in the state.
Addressing the programme, CPI(M) state secretary and another Politburo member Surjya Kanta Mishra accused the BJP of fuelling communalism and the TMC of fuelling minority fundamentalism in the state.
