Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today launched 'Samanvay Yatra' (coordination tour) from Orchha town in Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh to unify the party cadres and boost their morale ahead of this year's Assembly polls.
The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister embarked on the state-wide tour by offering prayers at the Ram Raja temple in Orchha in Tikamgarh district.
Singh, who is the party's coordination committee chief for Madhya Pradesh, later addressed the party workers at Digoda village in the district.
He said the ideology, which drove the British out of the country, would also oust the BJP from power.
"On the one hand, one ideology made the landless, poor, Dalits and tribals capable of leading an honourable life, the other ideology rendered them landless," Singh said in a veiled dig at the ruling BJP.
He also accused the state government and BJP leaders of indulging in corruption.
Satyavrat Chaturvedi, a member of the coordination committee, who is considered to be Singh's arch rival in the state unit, and other members of the panel are also accompanying him in the tour.
While announcing the launch of the yatra last week, Singh had said that the exercise is aimed at resolving the differences between the party leaders at district level.
He had said that the members of the coordination committee would dine together with cadres during the journey.
The yatra would end on August 31 after covering all the districts of state.
