Filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona, who was supposed to helm the sequel of Brad Pitt starrer "World War Z", has quit the project.
The reason for him leaving the director's chair is touted to be a scheduling conflict, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"Because of pre-existing film commitments, Bayona is not able to make [the sequel] this year, and it is our ambition to do so. He is a wonderful director and we hope to work with him soon," a Paramount spokesperson said in a statement.
No one has been roped in yet to direct the film, which has Pitt, 52, returning as star and producer.
Dennis Kelly has written the most recent draft of the script.
