Diskhit cautions voters not to be misled by BJP, AAP

Raising the pitch for the Delhi assembly elections scheduled for December 4, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today cautioned voters not be misled by the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who "do not walk the talk" and elect a responsible government.
Calling Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP a "seasonal" party, Dikshit said, "how will a party recently exposed for corruption fight corruption? The party only believes in collecting funds, raising slogans like 'jhaadu se sab beimani hata denge'," referring to a sting done on AAP leaders by a portal.
Slamming Delhi BJP, Dikshit said the party never walks the talk. "I ask why the party has not released its election manifesto yet?" she said.

"Recently a senior BJP leader proposed to have commandos here to ensure women's security. But the leader doesn't know that commandos are not under the purview of the state government, it's under the Centre," she said.
Addressing a public meeting here at Aya Nagar area under Chattarpur constituency, she highlighted a gamut of populist schemes such as 'Ladli', pension for widows and senior citizens, fast track courts for addressing issues of women's security implemented by her government.
Setting her eyes on a fourth consecutive stint at the helm in Delhi, Dikshit said her government would address water scarcity issue and regularise all unauthorised colonies if voted to power.

Referring to Delhi metro facilities, education infrastructure and economic development in the city, the Delhi CM said it has become one of the most conducive places and is home to people belonging to different states and religions.

"Today, among 1.70 crore residing in the state, there are more than four crore mobile phones. Recently, of the 200 students felicitated by the central government, 124 were from Delhi schools. For women and youth, we have set up a skill development centre in Jaunapur in collaboration with Singapore government," said Dikshit.
Criticisng AAP for promising reduction in electricity tariffs in its manifesto and the BJP which has repeatedly raised concerns over shooting electricity price, the Chief Minister said her government bears "300 times the cost of electricity".

"The government bears 300 times the cost of electricity while the prices for citizens have only been increased by 65 per cent. For those who consume less than 200 units we provide a subsidy of 1.2 paise," she said.
Stressing the need for more infrastructure development, Dikshit made a strong pitch for people to elect Congress and promised that the government would ensure that per capita income of people doubles in next five years.
"In Delhi per capita income is very high. People earn Rs two lakh per year today as opposed to Rs 68,000 elsewhere," said Dikshit.
In an attempt to woo rural voters, Dikshit also promised to further authorise colonies and extension of Section 81 of the Land Reforms Act.
