Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the distance between the government and the people should be narrowed down for development of the state.
In a democracy, people expect that the government will carry out good governance for their development. But, it will happen only when the distance is narrowed down, an official release said quoting Das.
The chief minister was speaking at a programme - 'Sarkar Aapke Dwar' (government at your door) for Palamau Division's panchayat volunteers.
Stating that schemes worth crores of rupees of the state and the Centre are there for the development of villages and villagers, Das urged the villagers to know about them.
Even after 70 years of Independence - drinking water, health, education and other basic amenities have not reach people, the release said quoting Das.
The state government believes that schemes should be implemented at the village level so that both villages and the state can develop, he said adding, as per Centre's decision, Rs 6,000 crore have been directly sent to the accounts of mukhias for development of villages.
Sakhi mandals had been created to develop entrepreneurship and their products will be bought by JHARCRAFT, Das said.
