DJ-producer Pumpkin has died after being involved in a car crash in Texas.
The DJ, whose real name is Nicholas Alvarado, was killed in an accident while on his way to the Head for the Hills festival in Kerrville on Friday , his manager Santiago Torrecilla confirmed to Billboard.
Both drivers involved in the crash died at the scene of the accident, he added.
Pumpkin had previously played at festivals including Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle and Electric Daisy Carnival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sammy Bliss, a friend of the DJ, broke the news of his death on Pumpkin's Facebook page.
He wrote a touching tribute, and announced that there would be an event organised to celebrate the DJ's life.
"Dear world - This is Sammy Bliss. For those that don't know me, I'm an old friend of Nick's. I happen to be an admin on his Pumpkin page and, as such, I have the unfortunate responsibility of conveying the saddest news possible," he wrote.
"It's with a completely broken heart that I need to let you all know that Nick died in a car accident last night (Friday) in Texas, on his way to a festival. I've known Nick since he was too young to drink, we came up together in the music world, throwing parties and having some of the best of times together, as I know so many of you have. I share with all of you my deepest sadness at the loss of a truly great human being and an epic friend."
He added that he doesn't think anything will fill the void that "we are all" going through, but that time may be a healer.
"We'll be organising a gathering soon to celebrate his life, remember all the beautiful memories he provided for all of us and spend some time together sending all our love to him and his family," he continued.
"I'm so sorry to have to deliver this sad news to you all... With the greatest of love - S.
