Under the scheme, around 75,000 residents of Swaroop Nagar area is expected to get potable water. The project will be completed within a year.
The announcement was made during DJB's board meeting here today, DJB officials said.
The DJB also approved setting up of decentralised water plants in 10 resettlement colonies, and in Shahbad Daulatpur, Rohini Sectors 23 and 26, Metro Vihar Holambi and Holambi Kalan Phase-II, Narela, Bakkarwala, Madanpur Khadar Phase-III, and Molar Band Phases-I and II.
The land for these plants will be provided by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).
The DJB also approved the plan to replace 1,500 mm and 1,000 mm-diameter water pipelines from the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant at a cost of around Rs 19.77 crore.
