Realty giant DLF today said it has become the country's first real estate developer to get ISO 9001:2008 quality certification for development of housing and commercial projects.
"DLF Home Developers Ltd, a part of DLF, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification after meeting the stringent guidelines set out by British Standard Institute (BSI), an accredited business standards company," DLF, the country's largest real estate firm, said in a statement.
"DLF Home Developers is the first realty firm in the country to achieve this internationally recognised Quality Management system (QMS) accreditation," it added.
The scope of the certification is focused on 'The Development of Commercial and Residential Complexes'.
DLF is present across 24 cities in 15 states. The company has 314 million sq ft of planned projects with 52 million sq ft area under construction.
It received the certification after undergoing intense evaluation for its adherence to delivery schedules of both residential and commercial projects, customer satisfaction and quality of construction.
"The ISO certification is a testimony to DLF's unflinching commitment to construction quality and service standards. This achievement will only encourage us to further raise the bar and offer only the best to our customers," a company spokesperson said.
With the implementation of QMS, DLF ensures highest level of process and quality control in developing the complexes.
QMS has very elaborately documented procedures addressing highest level of specifications to be achieved during various stages of development. The QMS norms help enhance systems, improve areas of weakness and reduce process in-efficiencies.
This system ensure compliance to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. A special emphasis is given on health, safety and environment at the work place during the course of construction.
