Amid continuing deadlock in BJP's alliance over identification of seats, its main partner DMDK today released its first list of candidates for five Lok Saba constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
In a brief announcement, DMDK in its official TV channel "Captain News" listed out five candidates and BJP did not react to the announcement. The announcement came even as BJP has been repeating that the list of seats to be contested by it and allies would be out today.
The Madurai Lok Sabha seat will be contested by Sivamuthukumar (Madurai city district secretary) while A M G Vijayakumar (DMDK Students wing secretary) will try his luck from Tiruchy.
While Soundarapandian (secretary Desiya Mupokku Thozirsanga Peravai) will fight the polls from North Chennai, Maheswaran (students' wing former deputy secretary) will be fielded from Namakkal. V Yuvaraj (North Chennai distrct secretary) will contest from Tiruvallur.
As part of alliance with BJP, speculation is rife that DMDK will fight 14 Lok Sabha seats.
