The decision has put to end the confusion prevailing among the political parties, many of whom had wooed Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), Ramadoss told reporters here.
He said the DMDK's move to go solo would turn the trend in favour of Paattaali Makkal Katchi (PMK).
However, he said DMDK chief Vijayakant's decision cannot be taken as final as he had forged alliances in the previous elections despite saying that his party would contest alone.
Claiming that both the ruling AIADMK and DMK have already lost the confidence of the people, he said the Karunanidhi-led party was a sinking ship as it had been pushed to the third place in the 2011 assembly and 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
