Attacking the ruling party for increasing the price of state run Aavin milk from November one, DMDK chief Vijayakanth said the hike would burden the common man to a great extent.
Coming down heavily on the alleged corruption and adulteration scandal in the Aavin administration in which a probe is currently on, Vijayakanth demanded that the properties of the main accused be attached.
Referring to a proposed hike in power tariff and an increase in the bus fare a few years ago, besides a rise in the prices of essential commodities, he wondered how the poor would be able to cope with the trend.
He also said his party would announce more agitations if the AIADMK regime did not roll back the price hike.
The State government had announced a hike in the milk prices of state run Aavin by Rs 10 on October 25. The price will be Rs 34 a litre effective November one.
