DMK's top leader M K Stalin today criticised the AIADMK government for raising the "subjudice" 2G issue in the Assembly which had already disallowed taking up similar court issues.
"In the 2G issue, the court verdict is not out yet. In the graft case against AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa the judgement sentencing her to four years imprisonment and imposition of Rs 100 crore fine has already been pronounced, and we asked if we could raise it in the House," Stalin told reporters.
He said the issued raised by DMK has been disallowed in the House.
Earlier today, heated scenes were witnessed in the House after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam made some remarks on the 2G scam, in which DMK leaders Kanimozhi and former telecom minister A Raja are accused.
The DMK members, led by Stalin, opposed Panneerselvam's remarks and wanted Speaker P Dhanapal to expunge it.
Citing several issues, Stalin said when his party wanted to raise them in the House, it was not allowed and his party members were told that "these were subjudice and could not be taken up."
"What Panneerselvam did today is not right and it is not befitting his position," he said referring to the Chief Minister raking up the 2G issue in the Assembly.
