40-year-old Kuwar Pal, who was suffering from typhoid, was taken to the hospital today, but the doctors did not provide him treatment, leading to his death, his family alleged.
The hospital staff are on strike in protest of transfer of Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Shisher Kumar, and suspension of Ayub, wardboy by the state government.
The Medical Superintendent was suspended after reports showed ward boys and sweepers administering injections and stitching wounds in the government hospital here.
The doctors and staff of the hospital today also allegedly assaulted media persons when they went to cover the death of the patient.
Yesterday also media persons were attacked and their cameras were snatched and damaged by the hospital workers. COR RBL
