Dogra Kranti Dal (DKD) today batted for carving out a separate state of Jammu and said it would recruit 5,000 volunteers for sensitising people about the discrimination being done by the state against the region.
"DKD would recruit 5,000 volunteers who would spread out to different corners of Jammu Pradesh and educate the people about discrimination and unresponsive government towards Jammu Pradesh," DKD patron and MLA Balwant Mankotia said here.
"Jammu, of late, has been facing a lot of important issues of political as well as social nature which need immediate redressal," he said, alleging that the political leadership is failing to address the issues such as overarching Kashmiri domination of the state and central government departments.
He said there was a lot of pressure from different areas to expand the activities and we have decided to establish units in all the districts of Jammu and dissolved the existing body with immediate effect.
Mankotia alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir Government has been continuously ignoring the burning issues facing the people of Jammu including unemployment, under development, unresponsive administration, and step-motherly treatment to Dogri language and Dogra heritage.
