Dowry death: Husband, brother get life term after 22 years

A court here today awarded life imprisonment to a man and his brother, and a seven-year jail term to their mother, 22 years after they were booked in a dowry death case.
Justice RajeshBharduwaj also imposeda fineof Rs 3,000 each on Amerpal and his brother Sansar.
Their mother Shair Kaur was sentenced to a seven-year jail term in the case, according to government lawyer Sitaram Arye.
Kawita, Amerpal's wife, was burnt alive over dowry demand at Silawer village in Shamli district on April 23, 1995.
She was married in February 1994.
