Barrymore, 38, said that she and Bale were friends when they were both child stars and even though they haven't seen each other in years he still makes her blush, reported Contactmusic.
"Christian is so cute, I knew him when he was a kid. But if he walked into the room now I would totally clam up or I might go overboard and embarrass myself," said Barrymore.
The actress is currently married to Will Kopelman and the couple have a seven-month-old daughter Olive.
"You just have to do it, you just have to squeeze in the occasional date night. For our last date night he took me downtown for ramen noodles. Of course I woke up so swollen the next day from all of the salt that I looked like a puffer fish but it was worth it," she added.
