"Drishyam", also starring Tabu and Shriya Saran and directed by Nishikant Kamat, released this Friday.
It raked in a total of Rs 34.08 crore in four days and the collections are expected to pick up this week owing to good word of mouth.
"Very satisfied with the response that 'Drishyam' is getting, one of the rare films that gets you collections as well as respect as an actor," Ajay tweeted.
It is a remake of a 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, which starred Mohanlal and Meena.
