Driver killed, six policemen injured

The driver of a police jeep was killed and six policemen were injured today when their vehicle ran into a stationary truck at Dharhara in Bihar's Bhojpur district.
The mishap took place when the jeep carrying six policemen rammed into the truck. The driver, Mahendra Kumar Das alias Gopal (40), died on the spot while the policemen comprising two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and four homeguard jawans, sustained injuries, they said.
The injured policemen were admitted to Sadar hospital while the driver's body has been sent for post-mortem, sources said.
The policemen posted at Koilwar police station were travelling in the jeep to carry out a raid.
