With the Vishwa Hindu Parishad planning a grand 'Ram Mahotsava' to celebrate Ram Navami, local police will monitor the proceedings through drone cameras.
"Yes, we will be using drone cameras during the ongoing mela between March 26 to March 28, which are the peak days," SP Faizabad Umesh Chandra Srivastva told PTI.
He said that crowd management would be monitored during these days.
The VHP has taken with a degree of suspicion the police's decision to employ drone cameras.
"From the security point of view it is right, but if it is targetted only for the VHP programme then it's wrong," VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma said.
On the lines of the mythological 'Panchvati' garden mentioned in the Ramayana, the VHP has decided to plant five trees in every village of the country.
They have also decided to gift Tulsi saplings, considered sacred among Hindus, to every household of the community.
"With the concept of an ideal home, VHP will carry out a programme between June and July during which it will donate a Tulsi plant to every Hindu house besides developing 'Panchvati' in every village," VHP spokesman Sharma had said.
"The seers are of the opinion that Hindu society must give prominence to its religious belief and tradition. Therefore, five plants should be planted in every village and every house must have a Tulsi plant," he said.
