Drone to keep vigil on kawariyas

A hexacopter drone fitted with video camera will be used to keep a vigil on the movement of kanwariyas here till the Maha Shiv Ratri Jalabhishek festival on August 1.
District Magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani and Senior Superintendent of police K S Emmanuel today launched the hexacopter and inaugurated the control room, which will be used to monitor the CCTV cameras and store images, a police official said.
He said the control room is operational for 24 hours till the festival.
The hexacopter will cover a distance of three kilometres and fly at a height 100 metres to keep an eye on suspicious elements, the official said.
City superintendent of police Salman Taj Patil said all the arrangements related to kanwar yatra will be managed from this control room.
