Four inebriated men allegedly forced their way into the campus of the Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College and tried to enter its girls hostel, the police said today.
Two of them are from the college
and have been suspended. The third is a student of a South Campus college and is on the run along with the other two.
The fourth, Rakesh Dhall, worked at the STGB Khalsa college canteen and was arrested after a police complaint filed by the principal on September 23.
The accused, allegedly drunk, had created a ruckus after being stopped by a staffer on duty at the residential complex of the college. They started quarrelling with him and also slapped a watchman on duty, the principal said in his complaint.
They left after threatening the staffers who had stopped them.
The incident, that happened on the night of September 19, comes in the wake of the alleged sexual harassment of a girl student in the Benaras Hindu University that led to massive protests.
Several students, including women, and two journalists were injured in a lathi-charge by police inside BHU during the protests.
