32-year-old Uma was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Ramesh last night, they said.
Ramesh was a drunkard and last night he returned home under the influence of alcohol and his wife objected to it, police said.
A fight broke out between the couple and in a fit of rage, Ramesh allegedly beat Uma to death.
After the incident, Ramesh tried to flee but was caught by police from the Dehradun railway station.
He was about to board a train to his native Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh when he was apprehended.
