Dry weather prevails in north

Temperatures remained mostly normal in north India today as the weather remained predominantly dry in the region.
Pleasant weather prevailed in the national capital even though humidity levels shot up to 86 per cent.
According to MeT department officials, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, while the minimum settled two notches above the normal at 17 degrees Celsius.
Predicting clear sky for tomorrow, the weather department said there would be mist and shallow fog in the morning. "The maximum temperature expected to be 30 degrees and minimum 17 degrees respectively," a MeT official said.
In Rajasthan, night temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in some western parts of the state. The night temperatures, however, settled around normal level in east Rajasthan.
Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum stood at 18.3 degrees, according to the MeT department.
In Himachal Pradesh, the higher reaches and tribal areas reeled under cold wave conditions. In some parts of the state night temperature fell markedly.
The maximum temperature in Shimla stood at 18.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum went below 10 degrees Celsius. The MeT office said the minimum in Shimla was 8.9 degrees Celsius.
Weather remained mostly normal in Haryana and Punjab.
According to the MeT department, dry weather conditions would prevail in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan in the next few days.
