A dumper engaged in a
government enterprise was set ablaze by Maoists at Musaboni in East Singhbhum district late last night, police said today.
Over a dozen Maoists arrived at the Bakra pool area and torched the dumper belonging to the Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), the police said.
The dumper was engaged in the Bagjata mine of UCIL.
Musaboni Deputy Superintendent of police Bachandeo Kujjur said the motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the security personnel have launched a massive combing operation in the Maoist-affected Ghatsila sub-division to track down the ultras.
