The two persons - Jamil-ul-Islam and Liyaqat - detained from the riot affected Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts were neither riots victims nor have anything to do with terror activities, IG (law and order) Amrendra Sengar told reporters here.
The duo's name surfaced after interrogating Mohammed Rashid and Mohammed Shahid, who were arrested by Delhi Police in connection with the Muzaffarnagar riots, Sengar said.
During interrogation Rashid and Shahid revealed of calling Jamil-ul-Islam of Shamli and Liyaqat of Muzaffarnagar to Mewat on pretext of giving them a job and motivated them to join terror activities, he added.
