Dy CM instructs for uninterrupted power supply in Jammu

Facing the ire of the residents of Jammu for unscheduled power cuts, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh has asked the officials concerned to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the winter capital.
In order to provide better services to the people, Singh, who also heads the power department, convened a high level meeting yesterday to review the functioning of various departments.
The meeting was attended by MLA West, Sat Sharma, MLA East, Rajesh Gupta, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner of Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu, VC JDA Mubarak Singh, besides officials of various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh directed the officers to ensure transparency in service delivery and said that it is the endeavour of the government to provide better basic facilities to the people.
He said a well conceived programme has been devised to address all issues in a phased manner.
A thorough review of the performance of PDD (Power Development Department), PHE (Public Health Engineering), Irrigation, PWD, Municipality and all other important departments was also taken up during the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister impressed upon the officers to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply and sanitation so that people do not face inconvenience in summers.
He emphasised on regular monitoring of the development works besides use of quality material.
