Singer Ed Sheeran got emotional at his Austin, Texas concert after he helped a male fan propose to his girlfriend.
In a video taken and shared by a concert-goer, the 24-year-old British crooner was performing "All of the Stars" when he asked the man to join him on the stage, reported Ace Showbiz.
"I never actually do this, but I've just had a dude sitting in the front row holding a sign up for me during the whole concert," he said before offering him, "Would you like to come on stage?" Sheeran then handed the man his microphone and sat on an amplifier as he watched him deliver a heartwarming speech about his girlfriend.
"So just 'Thinking Out Loud' here, but I met a lot of people in my days and to come across someone so amazing, so talented, and so beautiful inside and out," he said. "I knew there was no way I was going to let her go. I thought to myself, 'I better grab her, hold on for dear life and tie her down quick; Not with rules, conditions, or regulations, but with a ring, a ring around her finger that represents the ring around my heart.' "
As the other concert-goers cheered, the man took out a ring out of his pocket, dropped on one knee and asked his girlfriend, "Will you be my wife?"
Sheeran gave the man a big hug and later admitted he cried during the sweet moment. In a tweet posted after the show, he wrote, "Proposal tonight in Austin, I might've welled up, but don't say anything.
