Edible oils gain on rising demand

Groundnut oil and refined palmolein prices gained further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on rising demand from stockists and retailers.

Elsewhere, linseeds oil firmed up owing to good demand from paint and allied industries.

While, castor seeds bold and castor oil commercial held stable in the absence of any major buying activity.

In the edibles section, groundnut oil moved up by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 870 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 860 and refined palmolein went marginally up by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 720 as against Rs 718 previously.

Moving to the non-edibles segment, linseeds oil also edged up by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 783 from Rs 780 yesterday.

Castor seeds bold and castor oil commercial closed unchanged at Rs 4,130 per 100 kg and Rs 856 per 10 kg, respectively.
