Edible oils gains on increased demand

Refined palmolein also moved up due to good retail offtake amidst higher Malaysian cues.

In the non-edible segment, Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial both surged further on consistant demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.

Linseed oil also went up on better demand from paint and allied industries.

In futures, castorseeds prices continue to surge on persistant demand following higher export enquiries.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,190 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,185. Refined palmolein also added by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 618 from Rs 613.

Turning to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold spurted by Rs 150 per 100 kg to Rs 3,675 as against Rs 3,525 and castoroil commercial also climbed by Rs 30 per 10 kg to Rs 765 from Rs 735. Linseedoil also gained by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 760 from Rs 755 last weekend.

In futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened higher at Rs 3,850, and shot up Rs 3,912 before concluding at Rs 3,912 as against Rs 3,816 last weekend, showing a net gain of Rs 96 per tonne.
