Edible oils surged on firm demand

Groundnut oil prices climbed in an otherwise lacklustre Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on good offtake from stockists and retailers.
Refined palmolein extended its gains due to firm demand from retailers.
However, in the non-edible, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all ruled stable in absence of any worthwhile buying activity.
In the edible section, groundnutoil gained by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 790 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 785 and refined palmolein moved up by Rs 2 per 10kg to Rs 505 as against Rs 503 yesterday.
Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseedoil all closed unchanged at Rs 4,050 per 100kg, Rs 840 and Rs 760 per 10kg, respectively.
