EDMC Mayor Ram Narayan Dubey launched the program yesterday which will continue till March 15 and emphasise on cleaning and maintenance of parks, municipal buildings, market areas, religious and historical places during the season.
The drive will include an action plan with date-wise, ward-wise and zone-wise details, Dubey said in a statement.
Leader of House in the EDMC, B B Tyagi informing about the drive said "it will focus on cleanliness of drains, dhalaos (dumps), removal of debris, dustbins and removal of silt and garbage from open sites".
The Mayor also appealed to the citizens, RWAs, market associations and school children and sought their active participation.
"Students and teachers of municipal schools would also be sensitised about the drive," Dubey said.
Standing Committee Chairman, Sanjay Surjan said during the drive citizens can also make complaints about sanitation conditions on the Facebook page of EDMC.
East Delhi Commissioner S Kumaraswamy informed that cleanliness in unauthorised colonies and slum clusters would also be a part of this drive and added that further improvements and suggestions can be sent by people on the citizen helplines.
