Eight illegal brick kilns closed in Pulwama

Authorities closed down eight brick kilns which were illegally operating in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir and imposed a fine of Rs five lakh on the owners, an official spokesman said today.
The brick kilns were illegally operating in Yader-Shahoora village of Pulwama district and were closed on the directions of District Development Commissioner yesterday, the spokesman said.
He said on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, a team of officers headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Pulwama Shah Faisal visited the area and closed the eight brick kilns.
A fine of Rs five lakh was imposed on the spot upon the illegal brick kiln owners, the spokesman said.

He said the district administration has resolved to continue with this exercise in future and strict direction have been given to all revenue officers to ensure that brick kiln operators strictly adhere to brick kiln act 2010.
