A case of attempt to murder was registered against the accused today morning, a police officer said.
Beni Prasad Yadav (34) approached police with a complaint that some persons beat him up yesterday evening.
When a police team went to the spot to conduct an inquiry late in the night, the accused attacked them with iron rods, the officer said.
Assistant sub-inspector B A Darade and constable V S Dole were seriously injured in the attack, and Darade was admitted to the Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, the officer added.
