The Sessions court judge Ashok Kumar Vyas convicted Tejmal, Bhola, Jagdish, Devlal, Devkaran, Radhye Shyam, Nanda and Kajod for murdering 50-year-old Kalyan Gujjar and awarded them the sentence, prosecuting counsel Bhupendra Sahay Saxena said.
Gujjar, a resident of Tahala village, died in January 2013 during treatment in hospital after being attacked with sharp weapons and sticks by the eight when he was returning home at night, according to prosecution.
Saxena said a past dispute over some bigas of land and over a well had been going on between the families of deceased and those convicted.
